The presence of the Lord in this place

March 28, 2017

We’ve seen the Western Wall from above, and now it was time to see it from below. Along with this tour, we saw the largest rock ever used in building. It was ginormous. A few of us left prayers in the crevices of the rocks. Even below, the Western Wall was full of people praying to God and reading scriptures.

The Old City

March 27, 2017

The “old city” is surrounded by a heavily secured wall. The gate we went through opened up to the Western Wall. The Western Wall is considered holy due to its connection to the Temple Mount. Because of the status quo policy, the Wall is the holiest place where Jews are permitted to pray, though it is not the holiest site in the Jewish faith, which lies behind it.

Jesus’ Days

Today we packed up our bags and headed south to Jerusalem. The second half of this tour has officially started.

Israel is not a large size country, so it doesn’t take too long to get in between cities. After about an hour drive we ended up at Beth Shean and Scythoplois.

Walking on water, the Sermon on the Mount, and thirty other miracles of Jesus

March 23, 2017

Today we went boating on the Sea of Galilee. It was, well, pretty incredible.

Before we jumped on the boat we visited the museum that housed a 2000-year-old boat. The same one that Jesus may have been on. This boat was discovered in 1986 and removed from the mud along the shore of the Sea of Galilee. This amazing find gives us valuable information regarding the sort of boats used during the time of Jesus. It is truly astonishing at how well preserved the boat is today.

Where Water Was Turned To Wine

March 22, 2017

Day 2 … wow. I’m not sure how the team is gonna top day two. It was one word, amazing.

We started the day at Nathaneal, whose name would be turned to Bartholomeu. We stopped there for a teaching and then moved up the street to the church where Jesus performed his first miracle, turning water to wine.

It was here we got to see one of the giant vats that were excavated. You can see from the picture what this vat looked like. Not what many of us had pictured in our minds. This could have been the same vat that Jesus used in his first miracle. Or at least something very similar to this.

All 44 of us made it safely from the USA to the beautiful land of Israel. Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers!

Starting in Joppa

We wasted no time. As soon as we landed (in Tel Aviv) we grabbed our bags, hopped on the bus, and headed to Joppa.

Joppa is beautiful with historic buildings, new buildings, and a gorgeous beach (see photos).

Preparing for Israel

March 9, 2017

Our trip to Israel will be here before you know it!

Once we’re on the ground in Israel, we’ll post periodic updates and photos. Check back often or get update notifications using the subscribe options on this page.

We’ll be sharing our travel experiences online with you, our friends and family, to not only bring you along on the journey with us, but to also solicit your ongoing prayer and support. Most of us on this trip have been preparing mentally and spiritually for what will be a life-changing experience in the land. We’re also preparing physically as we train our bodies to handle all the time we’ll spend on our feet walking. So please pray that we would be diligent in our preparations and we would all be ready to learn what God has to teach us!
