Kent Dobson
Kent Dobson's respect for the Biblical text and the land of the Bible were challenged deeply by his first Israel study tour with Ray VanderLaan. His continued relationship with Ray and further tours to Israel and Turkey strengthened a new love for the world of the Bible and for a Jesus far more subversive than he ever knew.

There is a saying in the Jewish Talmud that the Torah is not one's inheritance. In other words, the text is not passed on idly from generation to generation, but must be wrestled with, pursued and listened to with great care. This is what motivates Kent. Kent does not consider his trips to be "tours," but a kind of pilgrimage where one learns with the feet by walking, and studies the Bible through conversation, questions and context.

Kent currently lives in Grand Rapids, Michigan, with his family.
